We are currently looking for a dedicated Resident Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of Caterpillar equipment, based in the Medicine Hat area. If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with a valid driver’s license, then you are exactly who we are looking for!

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment.
• Interact with customers, product and sales support, and the rest of the Finning team.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Complete technical documentation and reports.
• Work with the Service Supervisor on various tasks.

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
• Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver's abstract
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Completion, or in the process of completing all Finning S-level courses
• Self-motivated and computer literate
• Experience with Cost watcher, DBS, SIS and Warranty Systems as well as a good understanding of Finning systems, would all be assets
• Successful candidate will need to be customer orientated and motivated to meet the customer's expectations
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience repairing CAT equipment

Note:

This position will work a Monday to Friday day shift. Shift work may be required in the future. Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement. Hours and shift schedules that may be subject to change to meet Finning or customer requirements, and will be made in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Please be advised, the successful candidate for this position will reside in the Medicine Hat area.

You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
