We are currently looking for a dedicated Resident Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of Caterpillar equipment, based in the Medicine Hat area.

* Job Description:

Job Functions:

*** Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment.
* Interact with customers, product and sales support, and the rest of the Finning team.
* Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
* Complete technical documentation and reports.
* Work with the Service Supervisor on various tasks.

* Qualifications:

*** Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
* Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver's abstract
* Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
* Completion, or in the process of completing all Finning S- level courses
* Self-motivated and computer literate
* Experience with Cost watcher, DBS, SIS and Warranty Systems as well as a good understanding of Finning systems, would all be assets
* Successful candidate will need to be customer orientated and motivated to meet the customer's expectations
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience repairing CAT equipment

*** This position will work a Monday to Friday day shift
* Shift work may be required in the future
* Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
* Hours and shift schedules that may be subject to change to meet Finning or customer requirements, and will be made in accordance with the Collective Agreement
