Support wastewater collection infrastructure and service continuity with the City of Medicine Hat as an on-site, full-time temporary operator.
The Water and Sewer System Operator Level II assists Environmental Utilities with system operation, installation, maintenance, and repairs. The work includes fault diagnosis, equipment operation, accurate records, public communication, and occasional junior operator training.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain wastewater collection systems and water infrastructure
- Assist with locating and diagnosing system faults
- Repair infrastructure to maintain service continuity
- Maintain tools and equipment safely
- Support junior operator training when appropriate
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Accurate work recordkeeping ability
- Strong problem-solving and instruction-following skills
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, including Class 2 equipment
- Satisfactory driving record with valid Class 3 license
