Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some college education or construction‑related experience is a plus.
Work Week:
  • Full‑Time, including some nights and weekends
Responsibilities:
  • Manage accurate and detailed daily logs and photos for inspection recordkeeping.
  • Inspect the structural soundness of buildings – including roofing, foundation, sewer, heating systems, air conditioning, electrical systems, hoists, escalators, and plumbing systems.
  • Evaluate blueprints and building plans to be sure they meet contract specifications, zoning regulations, local building code ordinances, and electrical code safety standards.
  • Utilize test equipment, survey instruments, and metering devices to perform a thorough inspection of construction projects.
  • Oversee construction activities and conformance to general public safety standards throughout all phases of construction at building sites.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Oversee coating and construction activities, ensuring strict conformance to project specifications throughout the process.
  • Use testing instruments and devices to conduct thorough inspections at various stages of the project.
  • Approve quality work practices, document specification violations, and generate detailed daily inspection reports.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive daily records, including photos, for project inspection documentation.
  • Adhere to and enforce safe working practices to ensure a secure job site for all team members.
Qualifications:
  • Great decision making and communication skills, and mechanical knowledge are necessary.
  • Familiarity with inspection techniques, zoning regulations, construction methods, and state and local safety regulations and ordinances is crucial.
  • Some college or technical education in the area of engineering, building inspection technology, construction management, or construction technology is valuable, but a high school diploma is required.
  • Construction industry experience is preferred (2‑3 years) working with construction trades, as a real estate home inspector, plumbing inspector, or mechanical inspector.
  • A satisfactory driving record and valid driver’s license are required.
Compensation:

$21 – $35 hourly
