LIBRARY ASSOCIATE FLEX – FLOAT - PART TIME LIBRARY BRANCH: SYSTEMWIDE

REQUISITION

The Medina County District Library is seeking an individual committed to providing charismatic customer service to patrons and staff at all branches throughout the system. The successful candidate will provide direct library services to patrons of all ages at all service points. It is essential that the candidate possess the ability to adapt to both reference and customer service roles in both large and small branch libraries, as well as other projects as assigned.

Customer Service tasks include collecting monies and processing passport applications. Location will vary day to day based on last minute employee call offs. Must have own reliable transportation.

Bachelor's degree and one year experience working with the public preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to present programs, knowledge of a wide range of books and authors, familiarity with Microsoft Windows and the Internet, ability to learn and teach use of electronic library resources and use our computerized circulation system, and ability to work as a team member.

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, eligible to become a passport acceptance agent.

$17.87 per hour + $.75 per hour float premium;
Grade 4

Vacation, sick leave, personal days, holidays, and other benefits based on Union contract;
Public Employees Retirement System

Part-time; 20 hours per week; flexible schedule required including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays (schedule subject to change based on needs of the library)
