School Psychologist
The Highland Local School District has an opening for one (1) School Psychologist beginning August 1, 2026. This position is 194 days per year, including 184 days during the school year and 10 extended days for summer evaluations. The role involves conducting 504 evaluations and other screenings and evaluations as assigned.

Qualifications
Appropriate school psychologist license required.Strong undergraduate grade point average – preferably above 3.0/B average from the institution(s) granting the bachelor's diploma and master's degree.Successful documented performance as a school psychologist to pre-service intern counselor psychologist.Proficiency with conducting multi-factored and intervention‑based assessments.Makes effective use of technology to collect, evaluate, and report data.Has background and experience to effectively communicate and facilitate discussions between students, parents, and staff.Uses research‑supported approaches to counseling individual students and facilitating small groups.Knows and follows legal requirements for confidentiality, reporting, and instruction.Evaluates services through input from parents, students, and staff.Maintains a case load appropriate to the assignment; manages cases and other assigned responsibilities and maintains required school psychology files.Willing to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration to improve instruction and analyze student progress.Possesses the knowledge, capabilities, and dispositions to develop as a reflective practitioner and continuous learner.Demonstrates competence and knowledge of mental health referral pathways, multi‑tiered systems of support, and interventions for significant, mild, or emerging mental health needs.Capable of functioning as a resource for crisis intervention.Follows ethical and professional practice standards and guidelines as defined by professional organizations such as NASP, OSPA, and APA.Summarizes and interprets evaluation results and recommendations in written and oral form in practical and understandable terms.Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services.Salary
The person selected to fill this position will be placed at the appropriate step of the salary schedule contained in the negotiated agreement between the HEA and the Highland Board of Education.
Job Requirements - Master degree preferred.
