Job Description Position Overview

The Music Department Coordinator oversees the daily operations and development of the Melody Makers Music Program at the Davis Parks School of Arts. This individual manages both group and private music instruction, coordinates teachers and student schedules, and drives program growth through marketing, community engagement, and special events.

The ideal candidate is musically versatile, highly organized, and passionate about connecting people through music. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a creative, collaborative, and people-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities Program Management
  • Oversee group music classes, lesson planning, and curriculum development.
  • Coordinate private lessons, matching students with teachers and managing scheduling logistics.
  • Schedule teaching spaces and maintain updated calendars for staff and students.
  • Track enrollment and maintain accurate program data.
Program Growth & Marketing
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach initiatives to grow student enrollment.
  • Create promotional materials and manage social media updates for the program.
  • Organize and execute events such as recitals, workshops, and seasonal performances.
Instructional Support
  • Serve as a musical resource for instructors and students.
  • Provide teaching or support in general music, voice, piano, and additional instruments as needed.
  • Foster a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive environment for all participants.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field (preferred).
  • Strong background in general music, voice, and piano; proficiency on additional instruments a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Creative, energetic, and community-oriented.
  • Experience coordinating arts or educational programs preferred.
