Description
This individual will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance required to maintain our industrial equipment and facility at an optimal level of operation with an emphasis on mechanical power transmission, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics. Maintenance experience with industrial controls, 480‑volt 3‑phase electrical feeders, machining, robotics, and CNC is a plus. The individual will be required to work on mechanical and hydraulic presses, furnaces, grinders, steel preparation and coating equipment, gear shapers, robotics, CNC machining centers, laser cutters, dust and fume collection equipment, and HVAC equipment.
ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and supporting the Reliability Engineer, the Industrial Maintenance Technician’s main responsibility is preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance. The position will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that safety standards are maintained while performing duties
- Performing corrective maintenance on equipment
- Carrying out routine checks on production equipment
- Conducting regular preventive maintenance on equipment following standards and allotted time for completion
- Carrying out regular preventive maintenance on facilities to mitigate major damage
- Diagnosing and repairing or replacing worn parts in machine and equipment
- Maintaining correct fluid levels on machines
- Replacing filters and changing oil and grease. Completing assigned Lubrication Routes on equipment
- Ensuring that the facility areas and work environment are free of hazardous objects and substances
- Assisting external technicians/sub‑contractors during external PMs
- Working with the Planner to keep proper record of work activities, including updating PM standard work procedures, PM part list and tools
- Submitting reports on work activities and progress to the supervisor
- Working independently or as part of a group to PM, troubleshoot and repair existing equipment and facility systems
- Identifying root cause of equipment failures and suggesting preventive actions
- Following written instructions to perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities
- Working with engineering to upgrade existing equipment for enhanced safety, functionality and/or reliability
- Identifying and ordering machine components and materials required to complete any given job
- Accurately estimating time required to complete any given job
- Interfacing with the computerized maintenance management system to retrieve work orders and preventive maintenance activities, issue parts, and record closing information
- Working flexible hours, being willing to stay over to complete critical tasks, and working weekend hours when needed
Must be willing and able to travel occasionally as required (not typically a part of the job function, for training purposes).
Work Experience- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong working knowledge of mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics, welding and fabricating, pipe fitting, and construction trades
- Must possess strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and the ability to multi‑task
