Role Description
The Associate Pastor is a full-time, on-site role based in Medina, OH, focused on spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and community engagement within Western Reserve Instrument Rescue & Adoption’s faith-centered environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and supporting Bible studies, assisting with worship services, and guiding discipleship initiatives for individuals and small groups. The role involves providing pastoral care, including prayer, counseling, and visitation, while fostering a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for people from diverse backgrounds.
The Associate Pastor will collaborate with leadership to plan ministry programs, integrate faith-based values into outreach activities, and participate in organizational events that connect music, mission, and spiritual growth. Administrative duties may include coordinating volunteers, communicating with community partners, and supporting the documentation of ministry activities.
- Demonstrated ability in Bible Study and Discipleship, with skill in teaching, mentoring, and facilitating small groups.
- Experience in Pastoring and Pastoral ministry, including preaching support, service planning, and spiritual leadership.
- Strong Pastoral Care skills, such as empathetic listening, prayer support, basic counseling, and crisis care.
- Commitment to collaborative ministry, with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to serve people of diverse backgrounds in a gender-neutral, non-discriminatory, and welcoming manner.
- Preferred background in theological or ministry training (Bible college, seminary, or equivalent experience).
- Alignment with the organization’s mission, including support for music-based outreach and community service.
