Safety & Sustainability Coordinator Medina, OH | Full-Time | Exempt

At Sandridge Crafted Foods, we believe that safety and sustainability are fundamental to how we operate. We are seeking a passionate and driven Safety & Sustainability Coordinator to help strengthen our safety culture, support environmental initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.

This role partners closely with Operations, Human Resources, and site leadership to develop and execute programs that promote employee safety, regulatory compliance, workforce training, and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on professional who enjoys coaching others, analyzing data, solving problems, and making a meaningful impact on workplace culture.

What You’ll Do Safety Leadership & Compliance
  • Support the development and execution of company safety goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist with safety reporting processes, including:
    • Near misses
    • Incident investigations
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
    • OSHA recordkeeping and reporting
  • Monitor workplace conditions and identify opportunities to reduce risk and improve safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and company policies.
  • Support specialized safety programs including:
    • Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts)
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
    • Safety Key Elements Programs
Training & Employee Development
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Facilitate new hire safety orientation and ongoing safety education.
  • Support food safety and compliance-related training initiatives.
  • Track training completion, maintain training records, and provide compliance reporting to leadership.
  • Assist in the development of engaging training programs that strengthen safety culture and drive organizational capability.
  • Coach leaders and employees on safety best practices and expectations.
Sustainability & Environmental Initiatives
  • Support landfill diversion efforts through recycling, reuse, and waste reduction programs.
  • Assist with utility consumption reduction initiatives across company facilities.
  • Participate in sustainability projects that align with company goals and environmental stewardship efforts.
  • Track sustainability performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate safety committee meetings and participate on cross‑functional teams.
  • Analyze safety and sustainability data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop recommendations and action plans to improve performance.
  • Partner with Human Resources and leadership teams to support employee relations matters involving safety and compliance.
  • Represent the organization within external safety and sustainability organizations, industry groups, and professional associations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health
  • Bachelor's degree or related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, food manufacturing, or industrial operations.
