Salon Business Consultant
Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Medina, Brunswick, Narwalk, Napoleon, and Strongsville, Ohio.
Ideal candidate would reside in or very near the following cities:
Medina, Brunswick, Ohio.
Uncapped commission, vehicle reimbursement plan, and full benefits.
Essential FunctionSalon/Beauty Industry experience highly preferred.
The Salon Business Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers. The main focus is to help grow salons’ overall sales by meeting and achieving assigned sales goals through manufacturer education and sales resources. Growth is achieved through opening new doors, selling approved beauty products, and introducing new products and concepts. The Consultant actively uses all forms of social media as an additional outlet to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed beauty professionals.
PrimaryDuties
- Grow the Business:
- Identify key accounts within the territory and establish an efficient route to grow and develop existing customers while seeking new partnerships.
- Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and tracking results of all in‑salon promotions, programs, and concepts.
- Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.
- Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors, including achieving corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Acknowledge and respond to all email, text, and phone communication in a timely manner (within 24 hours).
- Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within that salon.
- Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.
- Strictly comply with established procedures regarding returns, including pick‑up and documentation.
- Work with all areas of business—customer service, accounts receivable, IT—to support the role.
- Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.
- Effectively manage all administrative aspects of the role in a timely manner—daily order entry, regular maintenance of customer information, and activity for the assigned territory in Salesforce.
- Attract and retain salon clientele by utilizing social media for communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge.
- Conduct effective in‑person and virtual product knowledge classes.
- Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow‑up plans, and any assistance needed.
- Grow Team and Culture:
- Be a subject‑matter expert on utilizing digital platforms and social media to grow the business, sharing knowledge with peers.
- Attend all meetings, functions, and events, maintaining regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.
- Be available to attend shows, participate in setup and dismantling of displays, handle back stock, and perform other required physical activities.
- Support all new initiatives with a growth mindset while positively fostering change management throughout the team.

- Create an organized work environment and workflow to best serve customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of one year of demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with an emphasis on consultative selling.
- Must live within the assigned territory.
- Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred.
