MIELKE Mechanical, Inc. is currently searching for a full‑time Journeyman/Apprentice Pipefitter to join their team in Columbus, Ohio!

• Monday to Friday
• Full time
• 8‑hour shift

• Experience commensurate to qualify as a journeyman Plumber/Pipefitter, with typically ten (10) years of actual field work, which may include apprenticeship or vocational training. The trade includes work normally performed by Pipe fitters, Pipefitter Welders, Refrigeration Mechanics, Sprinkler Fitters, Plumbers, and Millwrights.
• Ability to travel to job sites throughout the United States and spend multiple weeks onsite as required to complete projects.
• Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and a working knowledge of project scheduling software.
• Clear verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of industrial/commercial mechanical construction, excellent job‑site management skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills; able to effectively allocate and develop resources.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply mechanical and pressure piping codes.
• Read and understand both specifications and blueprints.
• Recognize safety hazards and possess working knowledge of proper safety procedures required.

• Layout, fabricate, assemble, and install carbon and stainless‑steel piping for industrial processing systems.
• Perform mathematical calculations related to the manipulation of angles, such as rolling offsets, cutbacks of fittings, and take‑out between welds and other fits.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
• Prep material for welding by utilizing appropriate cutting implements.
• Follow blueprints (ISO) to construct and install related piping and operation systems.
• Assist fabrication/inventory warehouse with inspection of material and equipment received and maintenance of stored equipment.
• Participate in on‑going training and career development.
• Directly manage job costs on all projects to ensure consistent profitability and make changes when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment by establishing and enforcing MIELKE safety policies and procedures; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local jurisdiction.
