MEDINA POLICE DEPARTMENT – Lateral Police Officer Opening

The City of Medina Police Department is establishing an eligibility list for a Lateral Police Officer.

Salary: Less than 45 college credits – range $8,535 - $9,751 per month.

• 45 - 89 college credits – range $8,639 - $9,851 per month.
• Associate degree or 90 college credits – range $8,838 - $10,043 per month.
• BA/BS degree – range $9,038 - $10,239 per month.

Uniforms, boots, firearms, and duty gear provided. Dry cleaning. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance. Optional long-term disability and/or EAP coverages. City match on deferred compensation, LEOFF 2 pension plan, shift differential pay, longevity pay, physical fitness incentive pay.

Applicants with at least three (3) years of prior fully commissioned experience are eligible for an additional 10% exemplary service pay after successful completion of the twelve (12) month probationary period. Lateral applicants must have a current Washington State Peace Officer Certification or meet the requirements for Peace Officer Certification. A minimum of twenty-four (24) months of the last thirty-six (36) months of full-time paid service as a sworn police officer in a civilian governmental jurisdiction.
