OverviewIt is the responsibility of the Regional Manager to represent Middlesex Savings Bank to the public and to their employees, and to promote the Bank's core values and mission. This is accomplished by focusing on strategic and proactive decision making, the customer and employee experience, development of staff, achievement of operational excellence and performance goals, and a commitment to the success of the Bank and of their region.
The Regional Manager provides support, direction, accountability, and coaching to branch staff within their region to assist them with meeting and exceeding stated goals, while maximizing effectiveness and efficiency. The Regional Manager works in collaboration with the division's administrators and leaders to support continuous improvement of processes and procedures, as well as training and staff development. Additionally, the Regional Manager oversees or participates in projects and teams as needed to achieve strategic objectives.

Advocates for and represents the division through leadership and participation in various projects, initiatives and groups. Adapts to and embraces change, is able to assist others in understanding and accepting new ideas. Takes personal ownership and accountability for their performance and that of their team.

- Manages time and priorities effectively to accomplish multiple objectives; follows through on tasks and assignments; responds to communications and requests in a timely manner. Expresses ideas well and clearly; uses professional written, verbal and electronic communications.
- Responsible for representing the Bank in the community, including participating in various community activities. Fosters relationships within the community and keeps self and management apprised of relevant events or opportunities as applicable. Represents the Bank as a volunteer or leader in local community organizations.
- Decision Making Proactively identifies problems or issues; gathers information and draws on knowledge, experience and insights to develop solutions. Makes decisions dependably and consistently in alignment with the values and standards of the Bank, balancing the interests of multiple stakeholders. Focuses on performance and development goals and uses planning to drive results. Develops decision-making skills in direct reports and staff by demonstrating sound practices and coaching team members.
- Empowers and encourages staff to utilize career development resources to take control of their own progress. Supports managers and supervisors in working with their direct reports and in using the tools for their own development. Coaches and mentors managers and staff in the region; develops skills and expertise by setting clear expectations and objectively assessing competencies, including performance evaluations. Handles constructive action and difficult employee situations, partnering with managers and HR appropriately.
Makes thoughtful hiring and promoting decisions while considering long term succession. - Customer Experience Works with the division's administrators and leaders to manage the experience of customers within the region. Reinforces standards and sets expectations to ensure managers and staff are creating the best customer experience possible. Ensures that region staff develop an understanding of customers' needs and expectations and that products and services are offered that address those needs and expectations. Ensures region staff develop new business by establishing and growing customer relationships, including utilization of business partners as appropriate.
Mentors others to develop communication and relationship building skills. Acts as an advocate for the customer experience, participating in customer experience related initiatives or projects as appropriate. - Operational Excellence Works with the division's administrators and leaders to ensure quality and accuracy of work, and that branch controls are effective and performed in a timely manner for branches within the region.
