Job OverviewWe are seeking a Tool & Die Maker to support manufacturing operations by providing tooling and fixtures for production and new product introduction (NPI).
This role is open to candidates with limited direct Tool & Die experience who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn—we will train the right individual.
The ideal candidate will bring some experience working with tight tolerances, high‑precision components, or machining in a quality‑driven or regulated environment, along with a desire to grow technical skills in tool making and manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities- Build, repair, and maintain high‑precision tools, dies, molds, fixtures, and gauges used in production and NPI.
- Coordinate with manager to ensure high quality product and maximum efficiency.
- Maintain tooling and fixtures to ensure proper operation.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to ensure tooling meets exact requirements (training provided as needed).
- Safely perform precision machining operations including milling, grinding, turning, EDM, and CNC.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve tool performance and manufacturability.
- Support root cause investigations, CAPA activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with design work as needed; CAD experience is preferred but not required.
- Run production jobs on occasion, as needed.
- Understand and follow safe operations of lathes, milling, grinding, turning, EDM, and CNC.
- Read, understand, and follow technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions in English to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification, apprenticeship, or journeyman training preferred but not required.
- 2+ years of experience in medical manufacturing, machining, or a related precision manufacturing environment required.
- Direct Tool & Die experience is preferred but not required.
- A combination of education, hands‑on experience, and demonstrated mechanical aptitude will be considered.
- Working knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, surface finishes, and precision machining techniques preferred; advanced skills can be developed through training.
- Experience with tight tolerance machining preferred.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators, etc.).
- Basic computer skills required and Esprit CAM software experience preferred.
- Familiarity with CNC and/or EDM machining and/or programming is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English, including technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
