Position SummaryAs our Accounting Manager, you will have the opportunity to interact with the Melbourne, FL leadership team and have an impact on improving the reporting processes for a growing division of a multi-billion-dollar public company. Winchester is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aptiv (NYSE: APTV), a global technology leader, with more than 180,000 people across 124 manufacturing facilities and 12 major technical centers worldwide.
This position reports directly to the site Controller and will help improve the financial reporting and control environment of the organization!
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 5-10 years of experience in cost accounting or related area
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP software (Visual Manufacturing preferred)
- Familiarity with actual costing methods and understanding of standard costing
- Manufacturing or production industry experience is preferred

Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including mastery of complex formulas and financial analysis functions

Are You Our Next ACE?- Fast & accurate financials - Ensure books are closed timely, financials are accurate, and reconcile all subledgers (AP, AR, Inventory, Fixed Assets, etc). Maintain, prepare, and process accruals, including payroll, materials, expenses, and project-based accruals
- Lead efforts to continuously improve cost accounting procedures utilizing existing software systems
- Work with plant operations to continually improve inventory controls and accuracy, including reviewing or auditing the adherence to cycle count procedures and/or leading the annual physical inventory, calculation of excess and obsolete inventory analysis, and evaluation of capitalized labor and overhead inventory
- Monitoring and improving the system of internal controls by implementing continuous improvement and efficiencies while maintaining compliance with Winchester and Aptiv policies.
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Support external audits, government audits, and internal reviews
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
