Harris is seeking a highly skilled accountant to join a fast paced, high performing team. The position will serve as a technical accounting advisor for corporate and/or business unit management on complex financial transactions and reporting matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and producing robust documentation packages. The incumbent will partner with cross‑functional teams on complex accounting transactions and enterprise‑wide projects and liaise with internal and external auditors to support the company’s positions.
Functions
- Support the IPO working group, providing leadership in the areas of preparing financial information, drafting and reviewing technical positions, and financial reporting.
- Manage the financial accounting aspects of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, spanning due diligence, purchase price allocation and integration, as required.
- Provide expert advice to leadership and business partners on the accounting implications of complex transactions.
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos and other documentation to support accounting positions.
- Provide guidance on accurate interpretation and effective implementation of business control processes and policies.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting guidance and assess impacts to accounting policies.
- Clearly communicate accounting guidance and impacts at the appropriate level (e.g., staff and peers, various L3
Harris teams including executive management, external auditors, external advisors). - Develop effective, collaborative relationships with segment and functional teams.
- Liaise with external auditors to support the company’s positions.
- Assist with financial reporting tasks as necessary.
- Support internal and external audit activities as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- CPA with active license.
- 6 or more years of public accounting experience with a Big Four or National firm.
- Master’s degree in accounting.
- Experience in contract accounting, preferably including U.S. Government contracts.
- Big Four experience with audits of clients that are SEC registrants and/or U.S. Government contractors.
- Strong technical and financial acumen.
- Previous experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry.
- Previous experience with accounting for M&A transactions.
- Experience with percentage of completion accounting, including estimates at completion.
- Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.
- Leveraging technology to enhance data analytics.
- Experience with automation digital tools (Alteryx, Python, Power Platform).
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas is $126,000- $234,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $109,500- $203,500. This…
