Job Title
Performs skilled office and clerical work for the Natural Resources Department.
Work requires a basic knowledge of the office operation and includes significant internal and external high-level contacts. Emphasis is placed upon dealing with highly political, confidential, and diplomatic matters requiring extreme tact and poise. May supervise other clerical staff.
RequirementsTwo (2) years of general clerical experience PLUS two (2) years of responsible, independent secretarial work that includes experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other similar software OR one (1) year of experience as a Brevard County Secretary. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Special requirements include passing the Brevard County typing test at 45 correct words per minute, possessing, or obtaining prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license, and maintaining said license during the term of employment.
In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
