Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Principal/Sr. Principal
International Trade Compliance Analyst for its location in either Melbourne, FL or Ranch Bernardo, CA
. This is a hybrid position, reporting to the Manager of AISR&T Global Trade Compliance ("GTC") for the Global Surveillance Division of the Aeronautics Systems (AS) Sector.
The successful candidate will have solid work experience in the defense industry with past work experience in the areas of contracting, international trade and/or legal. The position will be responsible for integrating export/import regulations into business processes; applying for all DDTC and BIS licenses and ensuring legal compliance to maximize business outcomes for the Global Surveillance Autonomous business area and others as assigned.
SpecificAreas Of Responsibilities Include
- Working within the Global Surveillance (GS) Autonomous business area and across organizational boundaries (Division, Sector, and Corporate) with the assistance of the GS Autonomous Manager to understand the strategic market direction, identify the unique business challenges, and navigate the complex import/export implications.
- Working under limited general direction from the GS Autonomous Manager and the market segment. Defining objectives, assignments, and priorities based on top-level strategic objectives.
- Managing the portfolio of Global Surveillance Autonomous business area export licenses and supporting the GS Autonomous Manager in representing the business unit within the Global Surveillance division towards licensing execution excellence and continuous improvement.
- Preparing and submitting all license and agreement requests required by the business area and implementing all approved authorizations.
- Interpreting government regulations including the Arms Export Control Act (ACEA), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Act (EAA), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- Preparing licensing/agreement internal control plans and conducting proviso reviews.
- Ensuring export recordkeeping and reporting requirements are fully met.
- Performing compliance self-assessment audits and implementation of corrective actions.
- Reviewing and approving data exports and international shipping authorizations.
- Interpreting technical procedures, jurisdictional application of governmental regulations and working collaboratively with Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Program Management, Contract Management and Business Development teams to deliver solutions for international programs and strategies.
- Assisting with investigations on export/import suspected violations and preparing documentation if in fact a violation has occurred and developing and implementing corrective actions.
- Making formal presentations in meetings, training environments and responding to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors related to export compliance.
- Assisting with export compliance issues with internal and external customers to resolve issues in a win/win manner while ensuring compliance with all legal regulations.
