About the Role
Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Level 2/3 Indirect Subcontract Administrator (Contractor) to support our subcontract management operations. This role is responsible for administering complex subcontracts and agreements, with specialized focus on large component procurement—including cryogenic tanks and larger structures—as well as long‑term agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and milestone‑based statements of work. The ideal candidate will bring strong contract administration expertise, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage high‑value, complex subcontract relationships in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities- Administer the full lifecycle of complex indirect subcontracts, from solicitation and award through closeout.
- Manage subcontracts for large components and assemblies, including cryogenic tanks, large structures, and major fabricated hardware.
- Develop, issue, and evaluate Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and conduct comprehensive proposal and cost/price analyses.
- Ensure subcontract terms align with prime contract flow‑down requirements and company policies.
- Lead procurement and subcontract administration for high‑value, large‑scale components and structures.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, and program teams to define technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Manage long‑lead procurement strategies and supply continuity for critical large components.
- Negotiate, establish, and administer long‑term agreements (LTAs) and MSAs.
- Develop pricing structures, volume commitments, and performance frameworks for multi‑year supplier relationships.
- Manage agreement renewals, amendments, and modifications.
- Draft, review, and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions to protect company interests and manage risk.
- Ensure appropriate flow‑down of prime contract requirements, including regulatory and compliance clauses.
- Partner with Legal and Contracts teams to resolve complex terms and conditions issues.
- Develop and administer milestone‑based statements of work (SOWs) for complex efforts.
- Establish performance milestones, deliverables, and associated payment schedules.
- Monitor subcontractor performance against milestones and manage milestone acceptance and payment authorization.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers.
- Resolve subcontract issues including performance concerns, schedule delays, scope changes, and disputes.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements, schedule, and budget.
- Ensure all subcontract activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate and complete subcontract files and documentation.
- Support audits, reviews, and reporting requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Level 2: 3+ years of subcontract administration or procurement experience.
- Level 3: 5+ years of subcontract administration or procurement experience.
- Experience administering complex subcontracts and long‑term agreements.
- Demonstrated experience with terms and conditions negotiation and management.
- Familiarity with milestone‑based statements of work and performance‑based payment structures.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
- Ability to manage multiple complex priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience procuring large components or major structures, such as cryogenic tanks, pressure vessels, or large fabricated assemblies.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Master Service Agreements and long‑term supply agreements.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and procurement compliance requirements (e.g., ITAR/EAR).
- Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM, NCMA CFCM/CPCM, or equivalent).
