STS Technical Services is hiring a Procurement Specialist in Melbourne, Florida, to support purchasing activities for indirect goods and services.

This position is responsible for researching sourcing opportunities, supporting purchase-to-pay activities, analyzing spend, managing vendor relationships and helping develop cost-effective procurement strategies. The ideal candidate will have procurement experience, strong analytical skills and the ability to work across business, legal and supplier teams.

Position Overview

The Procurement Specialist develops and supports purchasing activities for assigned commodities in accordance with company policies, procedures and business requirements.

This role supports supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract administration, market research, spend analysis and process improvement while helping the organization identify measurable cost savings and improve procurement performance.

Responsibilities
  • Support data-driven decision-making activities including goal setting, performance management and analytics
  • Perform purchase-to-pay procurement activities
  • Provide data and recommendations to support supplier selection decisions
  • Develop and administer agreements and statements of work in collaboration with business and legal teams
  • Conduct data gathering, spend analysis and market research
  • Develop business cases using Total Cost of Ownership and Net Present Value concepts
  • Identify opportunities for measurable cost savings
  • Identify and implement procurement process improvements
  • Build and maintain trusted business relationships across the organization
  • Develop peer relationships that support knowledge sharing and work optimization
  • Assist with maintenance of contract databases and special terms documentation
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships
  • Support commercial negotiations with suppliers
  • Assist with Quarterly Business Reviews and supplier assessments
  • Coordinate with internal departments, business units and customers regarding commercial and technical requirements
  • Support large Requests for Proposal and other special procurement projects
  • Participate in cross-departmental and process improvement initiatives
  • Monitor market trends and benchmarking data
  • Identify sourcing opportunities related to new product offerings, supplier changes and pricing shifts
  • Support enforcement of Procurement Policies and Guidelines across U.S. operations
  • Assist with training new employees on general procurement processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance, Operations, Supply Management or a related field
  • One to three years of procurement experience
  • At least one year of experience preparing RFQs and RFPs
  • Experience supporting commercial proposal negotiation, follow-up and control
  • SAP experience
  • Knowledge of procurement methodologies
  • Experience managing and measuring work
  • Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Professional and detail-oriented approach
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Experience with SAP and Quantum
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or similar technology
  • Portuguese or Spanish language proficiency
  • Global business perspective and ability to adapt to changing business and technology requirements
