The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MEP estimating and experience supporting large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects. This individual will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, evaluating MEP scopes, and collaborating with preconstruction, design, and construction teams throughout the bidding and design-build process.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed estimates for mechanical and/or electrical scopes on large-scale commercial and industrial projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements
- Prepare bid packages, RFIs, and cost analyses throughout preconstruction
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor pricing and identify scope or cost discrepancies
- Collaborate with design, preconstruction, and construction teams throughout the design-build process
- Provide value engineering and cost-saving recommendations
- Maintain accurate estimating documentation and project cost information
- 7+ years of MEP estimating or relevant preconstruction experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical estimating background
- Experience with a General Contractor or large-scale MEP subcontractor
- Proven experience supporting large commercial and/or industrial projects
- Experience with projects valued at $20M+ preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Design-build experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Excel and relevant estimating software
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
