Temp Position Number:  Salary: $65.00 per hour Posting Closing Date: 08/06/2026 Internal Agency Opportunity Applicants accepted only from Department of Health employees, (includes OPS, Career Service, SES or SMS employees). Applicants will not be accepted from outside of the department.

Conduct comprehensive oral health screenings and dental exams for enrolled children, following Head Start and Early Head Start Performance Standards and state regulations. Interpret intraoral photographs of oral structures, taken by qualified personnel, for the diagnosis and management of dental infections and related oral diseases. Provide preventive care, including fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral hygiene instruction tailored to young children. Diagnose and treat common pediatric dental conditions, referring to specialists when necessary.

Develop individualized dental treatment plans and maintain accurate, compliant dental records. Records procedures and services rendered to clients in client record Collaborate with Head Start health coordinators, teachers, and family advocates to integrate oral health into the child's overall wellness plan. Educate parents and caregivers on proper oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care strategies. Participate in community outreach events to promote oral health awareness and connect families with resources.

Ensure compliance with all Head Start, state, and federal health and safety guidelines.

Minimum – Licensure as a Dentist in accordance with Chapter 466, Florida Statutes Must have a valid Florida Drivers License Preferred – Board Certification in Pediatric Dentistry
