- Requires a BS/BA degree in Architecture and typically 8-11 years, drafting/design and related experience.

Essential functions:
- Ensures all construction documents conform to the contractual scope of work and implements changes in scope in a timely manner to maintain the schedule.
- Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating architectural design assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significantly affect major projects.
- May plan, organize, and supervise architectural design activities for a major project – project or lead Architect. (e.g., a complex multi-structure facility requiring considerable interface and collaboration with various engineering disciplines).
- Responsible for keeping up to date with new developments in design and construction methods.
