• Communicates course content clearly and effectively to students
• Demonstrates mastery of subject matter
• Provides intensive services to children and adolescents (6-17 years of age) within a four to six month treatment period
• Uses a comprehensive therapeutic approach in which service delivery is based on the individual needs of the client and their family
• Addresses emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues related to histories of physical abuse and/or sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment, unresolved trauma or psychological conditions that hinder functioning in a family environment

Description

Devereux Florida provides programs and services for children and adolescents who face significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual/developmental challenges. Located in Viera, FL, this position is responsible for the duties listed above.

Subjects teaching: Self-contained, elementary education

Pay Range: This position starts at $52,000 - $60,990 annually. Salary is based on relevant education and experience.

Schedule: Work hours are from 8:00am–4:00pm (School hours are 9:00am–3:00pm).

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year university required.
• Florida Educator Certificate (Elementary Ed and ESE Preferred) or current Status of Eligibility required.
• Experience in teaching Individuals with Autism preferred.
• Minimum of three years experience working with Emotional Behavioral Disability students is preferred.

• Must be able to complete a two-week new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day in Titusville.
• Work hours are from 8:00am–4:00pm (School hours are 9:00am–3:00pm).
• Our school year is year-round (49-week education instruction with 3 weeks of summer break).

• Valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings including Drug Screen, Physical and TB Test
• Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida
