Electrical and Environmental Product Trainer or Principal Product Trainer

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring a Product Trainer or Principal Product Trainer (Electrical and Environmental) for the Product Support Group in Melbourne, FL. The role focuses on developing and delivering training for aircraft electrical and environmental systems, supporting system operating and maintenance teams, and ensuring instructional content remains current.

Clearance required:

Secret. Travel: 25% of the time. 9/80 schedule. This position requires in-person presence.

• Develop training curriculum, study outlines, and orientation materials for electrical and environmental systems, subsystems, components, and associated test equipment.
• Support the development of criteria for evaluating training effectiveness.
• Continuously revise lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information.
• Provide input to keep technical information up to date.
• Demonstrate and use effective training analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.
• Develop instruction materials – self‑paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario‑based course outlines.
• Develop training materials – classroom materials, instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills‑based training requirements.
• Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities – e.g., pre‑tests, post‑tests, and quizzes.
• Use ISD current learning theory to solve complex learning and performance problems.

• 2 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree (or high school equivalent and 6 years of experience in lieu of a 4‑year degree) for a Product Trainer.
• 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree (or high school equivalent and 9 years of experience in lieu of a 4‑year degree) for a Principal Product Trainer.
• Hands‑on aircraft experience with electrical and environmental systems operations and maintenance.
• Experience with on‑equipment maintenance – servicing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, documenting, and performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions to meet mission requirements.
• Experience with off‑equipment maintenance – performing back‑shop maintenance actions to meet production requirements.
• Maintenance experience with on/off equipment E&E systems including AC/DC power generation and distribution, aircraft environment control, bleed air, vacuum, pneumatic, installed fire extinguishing and suppressant systems, oxygen systems, etc.
• E&E core systems intermediate sub‑competency proficiency level:
• Inspects maintenance actions for quality control.
• Performs operational checks to ensure normal system operation.
• Plans, monitors, and reports workplace production efforts.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment with diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
• Working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Ability to transfer and maintain a secret clearance (must be in‑scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 8 years of hands‑on E&E experience, instruction or industry training in content development.
• 2 or more years of experience in courseware development.
• 2 years of hands‑on aircraft experience with E&E systems operations and maintenance.
• 3 or more years of experience with on‑equipment maintenance (servicing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, documenting, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance).
• 3 or more years of experience with off‑equipment maintenance (back‑shop maintenance actions).
