International Student Recruitment Coordinator
Exercises discretion and independent judgment with matters of significance directly related to enrollment of students. Supports the recruitment and retention of international students with special emphasis on first year and transfer applicants. Assists in managing all inquiries and applications of international students in an effort to meet enrollment goals. Counsels international students and families on admission criteria and process. Welcomes and advises prospective international students and families during campus visit events.
Conducts university information sessions for visiting international students and parents. Conducts formal presentations to student, parent and teacher groups. Evaluates international undergraduate applications, makes admission decisions, communicates admission decisions and tracks enrollment outcomes. Coordinates and assesses the productivity of international recruitment agents and recommends programs to increase awareness and qualified matriculates to the university. Assists with on-campus recruiting events that are conducted after normal business hours.
Attends conferences for professional development. Travels domestically and internationally as needed. Develops and manages relationships with high school guidance counselors, independent counselors and contracted international recruitment agents. Supervises an assigned college work study or college roll student. Slate team liaison for the Office of Admission that includes planning, training and development of new systems. As a representative of the university, you will be a member of the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and will adhere to the standards outlined in NACAC's Guide to Ethical Practices in College Admissions
Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluates international undergraduate applications by reading and assessing transcripts, leaving exams, essays, letters of recommendation and determines admission to the university. Communicates admission decision to prospective student and related constituents.
- Responds to electronic correspondence (email, text, social media) from prospective international students and their family members in a timely manner.
- Counsels and evaluates prospective international undergraduate students and families concerning requirements for the enrollment process, scholarship opportunities, English language proficiency, the I-20 and student visa process.
- Conducts university information sessions both on and off campus, providing information regarding courses of study, scholarship guidelines, and other facets of the University for students, families, agents, counselors and other specialty groups.
- Assists in the development of a strategic recruitment strategy for all international students by assessing geographical regions to determine best opportunities for enrollment and the generation of inquiries, applicants and admitted students.
- Plans and conducts travel, as needed, to a designated geographical region to represent the university to international students and their families.
- Coordinates with the Slate team to plan, train and develop new systems and integrations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent knowledge obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience)
- Valid Driver's License
- Working knowledge of Slate CRM, Workday SIS, the university and federal financial aid system, and enrollment management.
