Job Summary:
This position supports the Kids' Ministry Director in developing and leading a vibrant, engaging, and Gospel-centered environment for kids (PreK–K) and their families. This role focuses on oversight of Sunday and Wednesday experiences for PreK-K and is responsible for volunteer leaders who shepherd Early Childhood (PreK & K).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, developing, and leading Kids' Ministry programs, including Sunday and Wednesday services (Early Childhood), VBS, and special events
- Oversee classroom setups and breakdowns, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for Early Childhood
- Recruiting and equipping volunteers and fostering foundational spiritual growth and discipleship in kids in alignment with the church's mission and values
- Ensure all volunteers and staff comply with child-protection policies and procedures, including background checks and safety training
- Develop volunteer leaders/partners to lead classroom specific tasks and worship
- Schedule and communicate with volunteers in Early Childhood
- Occasionally lead or teach classroom Bible stories
- Help facilitate classrooms and assist in CCA Early Childhood chapels if needed
- Participate in Calvary Kids' bi-weekly team meetings
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Skills and
Competencies:
- A praying, committed, growing Christian with an authentic, mature personal walk with Christ
- A humble, servant-hearted team player with a passion and calling for discipling young children
- Minimum of 1 year of direct experience working with children in a church or educational setting, preferably in a leadership capacity
- Experience in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, volunteers, and staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a working/growing knowledge of Ministry Platform
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional support for events as needed

Compensation: $15.00 - $16.25 per hour
