Position: Full-time, Onsite
Acara Solutions has been providing staffing services to aerospace firms nationwide for over 65 years. Our client, a well-established aerospace company with a plant in Fort Walton, FL, is seeking a Sr. Quality Manager. This role involves leading quality assurance efforts in an aerospace electronics manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the quality organization to meet AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Oversee design quality during product development using APQP and industry standards.
- Manage supply base quality performance, ensuring compliance and quality of purchased materials.
- Promote a zero-defect culture through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure measurement and monitoring systems are effective for process improvement.
- Develop organizational structure supporting strategic quality initiatives.
- Train employees in root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Analyze statistical data to identify trends and drive quality improvements.
- Resolve customer complaints and field reliability issues, including failure analysis and supplier quality improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related).
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience in manufacturing Quality Assurance within defense, space electronics, or high-end aerospace industries, including product development exposure.
- At least 3 years of electronics experience.
- At least 2 years of process controls experience (e.g., AS9145, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA).
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance if required.
Preferred Skills:
- IPC 610, JSTD 001 certifications.
- Experience with APQP tools such as Process Flow Diagrams, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC.
