Description

Northrop Grumman's Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved Skill Bridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. It is open to all ranks and experience levels. Skill Bridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active‑duty service members.

During the program the service member will be on‑site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid‑level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40 hours per week. The program’s goals, objectives, and outcomes are to provide training and a potential transition to a full‑time opportunity.

  • Has served at least 180 days on active duty.
  • Is within 12 months of separation or retirement.
  • Will receive an honorable discharge.
  • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS.

Job Description

Northrop Grumman's Chief Information and Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking a dynamic, innovative Information Systems Project Manager in the Aeronautics Systems Sector IT Program Management Office. This motivated individual will serve as the Project Manager for the E‑130J program with oversight for all projects and their requirements. This role will report to the IT Program Director for the E‑130J program and will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The office is committed to driving superior business performance through a robust, secure, cost‑effective set of standard and tailored solutions to enable collaboration, strategic business partnering, innovation, and cost effectiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for Project Management to both Program Managers and their customers and teams.
  • Act as the customer liaison between sector customers and project/program leadership.
  • Manage all scheduling, change management, risk management, and cost management requirements for assigned project(s).
  • Own any optimization or other remediation work assigned by the program manager.
  • Execute any ad hoc duties as assigned.
  • Provide leadership oversight for all projects and their requirements.
  • Own the Earned Value Management requirements for each project.
  • Manage integrated master schedule for the project portfolio.
  • Brief difficult technical solutions in a layman style to senior leaders within customer and program leadership.
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 12 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
  • Applicants must have a current active DoD Top Secret level security clearance (at a minimum), to include a closed investigation date completed within the last 6 years, or must be enrolled in the DoD Continuous Evaluation Program (CEP) in order to be considered; the required security clearance must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Power Point, and Excel.
