Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Environmental Qualification Engineer/Principal Environmental Qualification Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL.
** This position may be filled by either at the Environmental Qualification Engineer level OR at the Principal Environmental Qualification Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.
** The selected individual will perform within an interdisciplinary team to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems.
The candidate will be responsible to the Environmental Qualification Engineering Lead and Specialty Engineering Manager and work with other IPTs to successfully implement requirements, design and verification necessary to achieve successful system equipment qualification.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Interpret design guidelines, review test procedures, test reports, technical analyses, participate in cross discipline design reviews, develop models and perform analyses on components, subsystems, and systems in accordance with governmental and non-governmental standards, for example MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 and travel to supplier sites to guide/witness tests.

* Interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down requirements to all design levels.

* Support design reviews to internal and external customers regarding EQ issues.

Basic Qualifications:

Environmental Qualification Engineer (T02):
* Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

* Active DoD Secret Clearance

* Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) in a reasonable amount of time determined by the company (needed to start).

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Environmental Qualification Engineer (T03):
* Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related…
