Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr Specialist Model-Based Systems Engineer to support the USAF Advanced Battle Management System Digital Infrastructure (ABMS-DI) Network Developer program. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with all aspects of SysML modeling practices, possessing in-depth knowledge and practical experience with all nine (9) standard diagram types as well as experience in the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), the Agile software development methodology, Design Gate reviews, requirements elicitation and creation, and participate in Customer Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs).
This role requires collaborative work across all engineering disciplines and with both internal and external customers.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex systems, ensuring adherence to the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Conduct Design Gate reviews to assess and approve various stages of system development.
- Facilitate requirements elicitation and creation, ensuring alignment with customer needs and program objectives.
- Participate in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for all aspects of SysML modeling efforts, including initial system analysis, model development, and continuous updates.
- Utilize extensive experience in creating all nine SysML diagram types to model systems effectively.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines and with internal and external customers to ensure cohesive and comprehensive system designs.
- Provide mentorship to junior-level modelers and engineers.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance required.
- 5 years of direct experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML applications and tools such as Magic Draw® and/or IBM Rhapsody®.
- 4 years of experience across various phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including but not limited to requirements analysis, design, development and testing, implementation, documentation, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in writing software scripts used in Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler tool suite, including Teamwork Cloud.
- Understanding of current and future military network systems architectures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, proactive attitude, and attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
- Experience in presenting and demonstrating MBSE modeling to potential customers and during technical exchange meetings with stakeholders.
- Ability to perform operational analysis to define and decompose strategic and tactical mission needs in SysML standard formats and viewpoints.
- Ability to perform architecture analysis to define and decompose platforms and systems into progressively granular levels of detail.
- Significant experience and understanding of all 9 SysML diagram types.
