Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer Architect located in Melbourne, FL. This role uses Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to support Systems Engineering Integration (SEI) and cross-IPT collaboration. The candidate will develop system architectures, define key capabilities, and ensure requirements are met in collaboration with customers. This position is part of the Longshot team and requires competency with DODAF or SysML viewpoints.
Key Responsibilities- Define system architectures
- Develop architecture, CONOPS, and use cases using model-based systems engineering methodologies
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Execute trade studies to select among multiple potential solutions
- Perform Systems Requirements analysis
- Manage requirements, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience; or Master of Science in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience; or STEM Ph.D. and 4 years of related experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any required program access within a reasonable period of time
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering with experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering
- Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture and SysML
- Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred
- Experience with Cameo Magic Draw or another MBSE tool such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, or Enterprise Architect
- Experienced in developing DODAF view artifacts, especially Operational and Functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like Cameo
Primary Level Salary Range: $ – $
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Northrop Grumman may consider additional factors when determining base salary offers.
