Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to contribute to our Systems Engineering organization in Melbourne, FL. The role involves technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses across the entire product life cycle—from concept to disposal. Responsibilities include translating customer or product requirements into system solutions while respecting technical, schedule, and cost constraints, and performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to produce hardware and software specifications.
Responsibilities- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Ensure logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Execute functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience OR Master of Science with 3 years of related experience OR PhD with 1 year of related experience. - Senior Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience OR Master of Science with 6 years of related experience OR PhD with 4 years of related experience. - Maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time.
- Experience with Agile workflows.
- Knowledge of configuration management of model‑based architecture baselines.
- Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
- Proven ability to brief technical presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Background in Model-Based Systems Engineering and Architecture Development.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings at technical and program reviews and boards.
- Ability to apply extensive technical expertise in the development of technical solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 – $
