Embedded Software Test Engineer (DO-178C / DAL-A)
About the RoleHCLTech is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Test Engineer with strong experience in DO-178C compliance and DAL-A verification to support aerospace and avionics programs. This role focuses on validating safety-critical embedded systems, ensuring compliance with certification standards, and driving high-quality verification processes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform verification and validation (V&V) of embedded avionics software in compliance with DO-178C standards (DAL-A)
- Develop and execute unit tests, functional tests, and automated test scripts
- Design and maintain test cases, test procedures, and regression test suites
- Conduct structural coverage analysis (SCA) using tools such as LDRA, Vector CAST
, or similar - Perform quantitative and object code analysis to support certification requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across software, systems, and certification engineering
- Support test documentation, traceability, and compliance artifacts for regulatory audits
- Strong hands‑on experience with DO-178C standards
, with DAL-A level verification experience - Experience in unit testing and functional testing methodologies
- Proven experience in test automation and test framework development
- Experience with structural coverage tools (LDRA, Vector
CAST, or similar) - Experience with object code analysis / low-level verification
- Solid understanding of embedded systems and software‑hardware interaction
- Experience working with aircraft GNSS systems or CNS (Communication, Navigation & Surveillance) domains
- Prior experience in avionics or aerospace safety‑critical systems
- Exposure to HIL/SIL testing environments
This position involves work on systems regulated under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Pay Range Minimum: $ 70000 per year
Pay Range Maximum: $ 150000 per year

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
