Job Overview
Satcom Direct Government (SDG) is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Pre‑Sales Engineer covering primarily the US region to join the team. In this role you will serve as a vital link between the sales and engineering teams, providing expert support and guidance throughout the sales process.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer requirements and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs.
- Provide technical expertise during pre‑sales presentations, product demonstrations, and RFP responses.
- Develop and deliver engaging product presentations and demos to prospective customers.
- Create detailed technical documentation, proposals, and solution architectures that align with client requirements.
- Address customer inquiries promptly, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Work closely with the product development team to relay customer feedback and contribute to product improvements.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients to ensure successful implementation and utilization of our products.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product knowledge, and competitive landscape to effectively position our offerings and assist in developing new ones.
- Represent SDG at various regional events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Networking, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a pre‑sales or technical support role.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a related field (e.g., Military or Aero Systems).
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the Americas as required, occasionally elsewhere globally to support the global pre‑sales team.
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
- Hands‑on experience with Military and/or Civil Aero SATCOM equipment and satellite networks.
- Strong understanding of networking, software applications, and technical solutions within the military satellite communications (SATCOM) field.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with UAV and/or Airborne ISR communications systems.
- Video compression and Linux administration knowledge.
- Prior experience supporting global sales teams with technical expertise, including customer proposal writing, demos, and presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
- Ability to learn quickly and make effective decisions in a performance‑based work environment.
- Works independently and can prioritize under stressful situations.
Base Pay: $104,000–$130,000 USD annually.
Annual Target Incentive: Bonus plan at 10% of annualized base pay.
Stock Program: Eligible for incentive stock program and employee stock purchase plan.
