Systems Engineer
Position Overview
We are looking for an IP Engineer for a full‑time, contract‑to‑hire role (6–12 months) based in Melbourne, FL (Onsite).
Responsibilities- Provide tier‑3 support for troubleshooting and resolving IP backbone and customer routing issues.
- Design, engineer, and implement scalable network solutions to support customer needs and critical backbone architectures.
- Support and collaborate with a team of 6–7 network engineers.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex network incidents and outages.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Create training materials and provide knowledge transfer to engineering and NOC teams.
- Ensure network designs meet reliability, performance, and security standards.
- Support ongoing network optimization, upgrades, and architectural improvements.
- Participate in project execution, planning, and cross‑team coordination as needed.
- Bachelor of Science in Networking, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent 4‑year degree).
- 8+ years of hands‑on network engineering experience with IP networks.
- 6+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing IP and MPLS network architectures.
- Strong IP configuration and troubleshooting experience with protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, PIM, EIGRP, HSRP, VPLS, VRFs, L3
VPN, and Ethernet. Full expertise in all is not required. - Experience creating IP addressing plans and network designs.
- Advanced technical documentation, presentation, and writing skills.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio.
- Exposure to SD‑WAN technologies.
- Ability to work in or support environments using Fujitsu network solutions.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Leadership capabilities with potential to grow into lead or senior roles.
- Expert‑level industry certifications preferred (e.g., CCIE).
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Network scripting experience.
- Project management and technical leadership experience.
- Advanced certifications.
Pay Range: $60–$70 per hour. Pay is based on education, experience, location, specific duties, certifications, etc.
