The Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer (Level
2) / Principal M&P Engineer (Level
3) will join an Integrated Product Team to develop, qualify, and optimize metallics, sealants, and coating solutions for critical structural applications, performing root‑cause analysis and defining processing specifications.
- Perform root‑cause analysis of material failures and provide effective solutions to production sealants & coatings issues or metallics issues.
- Generate test plans and reports.
- Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems, and subsystems.
- Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop non‑metallic processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes or metallic processing specifications, fabrication and associated assembly processes.
- Develop, analyze and apply material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications.
- Perform material analyses including failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.
- Perform drawing reviews to ensure M&P requirements are satisfied.
- Review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
- Travel to subcontractor locations.

- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; or a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience.
- Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time.
- Professional experience with metallics, sealants and/or coatings applied to structural components.
- Professional experience with metal or composite fabrication and/or design.
- Demonstrated experience with repair processes for metal or composite materials used in structures.

- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; or a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; or a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
- Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time.
- Professional experience with metallics, sealants and/or coatings applied to structural components.
- Professional experience with metal or composite fabrication and/or design.
- Demonstrated experience with repair processes for metal or composite materials used in structures.
- Final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience with aircraft structures.
- Experience with military specs and standards.
- Experience interfacing with a military customer.
- Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $.
- Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $.
