The Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer (Level
2) / Principal M&P Engineer (Level
3) will join an Integrated Product Team to develop, qualify, and optimize metallics, sealants, and coating solutions for critical structural applications, performing root‑cause analysis and defining processing specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform root‑cause analysis of material failures and provide effective solutions to production sealants & coatings issues or metallics issues.
  • Generate test plans and reports.
  • Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems, and subsystems.
  • Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop non‑metallic processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes or metallic processing specifications, fabrication and associated assembly processes.
  • Develop, analyze and apply material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications.
  • Perform material analyses including failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.
  • Perform drawing reviews to ensure M&P requirements are satisfied.
  • Review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
  • Travel to subcontractor locations.
Basic Qualifications Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer (Level
2)
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; or a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time.
  • Professional experience with metallics, sealants and/or coatings applied to structural components.
  • Professional experience with metal or composite fabrication and/or design.
  • Demonstrated experience with repair processes for metal or composite materials used in structures.
Principal Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer (Level
3)
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; or a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; or a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
  • Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time.
  • Professional experience with metallics, sealants and/or coatings applied to structural components.
  • Professional experience with metal or composite fabrication and/or design.
  • Demonstrated experience with repair processes for metal or composite materials used in structures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience with aircraft structures.
  • Experience with military specs and standards.
  • Experience interfacing with a military customer.

  • Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $.
  • Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $.
