Contec is seeking a hands‑on Engineering Technician to support the development, testing, and validation of industrial computer systems and embedded technologies.

In this role, you'll work alongside engineers to build computer platforms, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, execute test plans, and help bring new products from development into production. You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines including hardware integration, operating systems, product validation, manufacturing support, and technical documentation.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy understanding how technology works, solving technical problems, and working in a collaborative engineering environment.

• Build, configure, test, and document computer platforms during product development
• Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues during development and validation
• Execute test plans and document results
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems
• Create and maintain software images for specific hardware configurations
• Develop work instructions, engineering notes, and technical documentation
• Support engineering and manufacturing teams during product introduction and production ramp‑up
• Assist with automated manufacturing test configurations and scripts
• Identify opportunities for product, process, and quality improvements
• Work within project schedules and defined scopes of work

• Industrial and embedded computer systems
• Windows and Linux operating systems
• Hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting tools
• Networking technologies
  
  Product validation and reliability testing
• Manufacturing test systems
• Engineering documentation and change control processes

• Associate degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent experience
• Experience working with computer hardware, operating systems, or technical troubleshooting
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation and test procedures
  
  Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Hardware integration, testing, or system‑level troubleshooting experience
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Familiarity with ISO‑regulated quality systems
• CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications
• Experience supporting new product development, testing, or manufacturing operations

• Work on real‑world industrial computing solutions
• Collaborate directly with experienced engineers and technical professionals
• Gain exposure to design, testing, manufacturing, and quality processes
• Contribute to products from concept through production
