Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems invites applications for the role of Principal Systems Engineer / Senior Principal Systems Engineer at our Melbourne, FL location. The role is within the Systems Engineering organization and focuses on the technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, risk and cost analysis, and supportability of total systems throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Analyze systems at all product levels, from concept through disposal, ensuring logical conversion of customer or product requirements into system solutions.
- Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Ensure compliance with technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 – $.
Secondary Level Salary Range: $ – $.
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and, for senior positions, long‑term incentives. Qualifications Basic Qualifications- Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience, or Master of Science with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year. - Senior Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor of Science with 8 years of related experience, or Master of Science with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years. - Ability to obtain and maintain a final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD in‑scope or Continuously Evaluated) and any program access required in a reasonable timeframe.
- Experience with Agile workflows.
- Knowledge of configuration management of model‑based architecture baselines.
- Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
- Proven ability to brief technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Foundation in Model Based Systems Engineering and Architecture Development.
- Effective communication and clear technical presentation at reviews and boards.
- Extensive technical expertise in developing solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
