Responsibilities

Job responsibilities

  • Support maintenance and sustainment of complex systems. Provide technical support and timely resolution of defects. Perform duties in the electronic and/or electromechanical areas.
  • Assist in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Work from and thoroughly understand schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems.
  • Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Electronic Component Level troubleshooting and repair.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to improve depot efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; and validating manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Perform root cause analysis of technical issues and provide containment and corrective actions.
  • Support design, development, and implementation of cost-effective procedures for testing and troubleshooting components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems.
  • Support development of test plans, test procedures, requirements traceability, test reports, test flow, and test case design and implementation.
  • Document testing issues and failures and perform analysis of test results.
  • Support formal systems acceptance testing activities.
  • Support failure investigation activities and failure review board (FRB) meetings.
  • Candidate will be responsible for the oversight / generation of shop orders / work order flow tags in preparation for testing.
  • Candidate will be responsible for learning, properly using and maintaining the depot test sets and test equipment.
  • Candidate will be familiar with MIL-STD-461F EMI/EMC qualification and testing.
  • Ability to obtain and continue to hold an FAA Public Trust clearance.
Qualifications
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Experience in manufacturing, repair depot, or integration environment.
  • Knowledge of communications systems, software languages, automated software test, networks, network security, power systems, and/or mechanical design and analysis.
  • Experience with process improvement tools including Lean, Six Sigma, 5S or Kaizen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Ability to manage, track, and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience providing support to DoD/FAA customers.
