About the RoleThe Senior FPGA Design & Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, debugging, and integrating FPGA-based systems using VHDL, DSP algorithms, and Xilinx FPGA technologies. The role will work closely with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to support FPGA development, hardware bring-up, laboratory validation, and system integration activities.
Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and document FPGA-based solutions using VHDL.
- Implement DSP and digital signal processing algorithms in FPGA hardware.
- Develop FPGA designs using Xilinx FPGA architectures and development tools.
- Model and simulate DSP algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Perform FPGA board bring-up, hardware debugging, and laboratory validation.
- Conduct timing analysis and achieve timing closure.
- Support hardware and software system integration and testing.
- Perform simulation and verification using Model Sim and/or Questa.
- Troubleshoot FPGA, hardware, and system-level issues.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and verification activities.
- Capture system and design requirements and maintain detailed engineering documentation.
- Support structured development, verification, and configuration-management processes.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and test engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Strong professional experience in FPGA design and development.
- Experience implementing DSP algorithms in FPGA hardware.
- Experience with Xilinx FPGA architectures and development tools.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink modeling and simulation.
- Experience with FPGA hardware bring-up and laboratory debugging.
- Experience with timing analysis and timing closure.
- Experience working in Linux development environments.
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder required due to ITAR requirements.
- Must be willing to work 3 days onsite in Melbourne, FL.
- DSP / Digital Signal Processing implementation in FPGA hardware.
- Xilinx FPGA tools and architectures.
- MATLAB/Simulink modeling and simulation.
- Hardware lab testing and system integration.
- Timing analysis and timing closure.
- FPGA board bring-up and hardware debugging.
Model Sim and/or Questa experience. - Requirements capture and detailed design documentation.
Skills:
