Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Onsite
- Melbourne, FL

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Industry: Aviation

Compensation: $35-$39/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift

About Opportunity

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing operations through technical analysis, testing, and process improvement. You will apply sound engineering judgment and Lean Manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce costs and cycle time, and support the successful implementation of manufacturing processes across a range of engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolves engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information; researching, analyzing, adapting, and modifying engineering techniques; recommending solutions; reviewing drawings, schematics, and diagrams; evaluating installations, components, materials, and suppliers; resolving design integration issues; developing specifications and safety standards
  • Electrical Engineer:
    Evaluates electrical systems, avionics, products, components and applications applying knowledge of electricity and materials
  • Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment and practices; soliciting observations of stakeholders and application of Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Assures compliance with all applicable specs and regulations

Job Requirements What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor of Science Engineering degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft manufacturing/maintenance/repair experience

  • Master's degree in manufacturing related engineering
  • Six Sigma
    - Green Belt Certification
  • Technical understanding and application knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, assembly, tooling and tools.
  • Lean manufacturing skill set and knowledge with experience implementing lean methodologies/tools
  • Proficiency with planning practices and tools
  • Proficient in Lotus Notes, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Power Point), MES, CATIA, & SAP
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Utilization of Lean Production concepts
