As a Payments Specialist II-Digital (2nd shift), you will ensure accurate daily ACH/correspondent file posting and reconciliation, process domestic/international wires up to $1MM with OFAC verification, manage return‑item decisions, and support payment disputes and channels including Zelle, RTP, and Bill Pay.

This position is 2nd shift and is eligible for shift differential pay.

Payments Specialist II‑Digital

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews ACH and Wire daily reporting for correctness and accuracy.
  • Reviews and balances daily files downloaded from the Correspondent Banks and the ACH files from Federal Reserve Bank through the third‑party ACH application within required service and compliance standards. Generates and processes exception reports.
  • Reviews and balances daily files downloaded from Third‑Party Servicers for all emerging payment channels to include Zelle, RTP, Bill Pay service within compliance standards. Generates and processes exception reports.
  • Reviews and analyzes the daily returns file for ACH transactions posted against member accounts. Determines pay, pay and charge or no‑pay status of exception items. Balances the returns file and transmits the returns file electronically within the regulatory deadlines.
  • Processes SCCU payroll, benefit and other inter‑organizational transfers via digital payment rails.
  • Receives, verifies, and processes incoming and outgoing Domestic and International wires, outgoing wires up to $1 Million for members and departments through Wire system.
  • Researches and responds to team‑member inquiries/requests received through multiple channels within department service standards.
  • Receives and processes payment disputes (non‑fraud) for ACH, Wires, and emerging payment channels.
  • Trains other Payments Specialists, as requested by management, to ensure consistent and uniform understanding of job function.
  • Reviews digital payment methods for fraudulent activity and reports activity to Fraud Management.
  • Remains knowledgeable and current in all aspects of Regulation D, Regulation E, Bank Secrecy Act, Money Laundering and OFAC compliance. Additional training and certifications will be completed as required.
Payments Specialist II‑Digital Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience. Associates degree preferred.
  • 1‑3 years of related experience in a financial institution with specific experience in ACH and/or Wire Transfers.
Payments Specialist II‑Digital Compensation:
  • Bonus Opportunity: Eligible for ONE SCCU Annual Bonus.
Work Schedule
  • Hybrid and Flexible Schedule Options: This position is hybrid with two days per week required in office.
