Payroll Clerk III
The Payroll Clerk III, reporting directly to the Payroll and Tax Manager, is responsible for completing all aspects of the university's payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely employee payments. This role involves collaborating with various university departments to support and address inquiries, providing excellent customer service for all payroll-related matters. The position also includes bi‑weekly payroll processing, tax reconciliation, maintenance of tax treaty information, and time tracking reporting to various departments.
Assisting Payroll and Tax Manager with various audit reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with departments across campus for time sheet approvals and discrepancies.
- Prepare and process bi‑weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring the payroll system operates correctly and addressing any discrepancies. Follow all processing procedures, adhere to company policies, and maintain confidentiality throughout the process.
- Conduct basic reconciliation and audit procedures during each bi‑weekly pay cycle, including bi‑weekly tax reporting and reconciliation.
- Bi‑weekly and month‑end close reporting for various departments (e.g., Overtime reporting, call‑in pay reporting, Mary Star of theSea wage reporting, etc).
- Provide payroll related customer service to university staff (e.g., pay slip requests, grant invoicing supporting documents, etc).
- Analysis and updates of international tax treaties within Sprintax and Workday.
- Assist Payroll and Tax Manager with audit review and prep.
- Process payment reissues for rejected direct deposits and lost checks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent knowledge obtained through a combination of education, training and experience) preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, required. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions and formulas.
$50,000 to $55,000
