As a Loan Processor IV – Mortgage Closer in our Melbourne Headquarters, you will represent SCCU and provide exceptional quality service to members by preparing and transmitting all approved loans originated through the Express Mortgages function and ensuring a timely closing to exceed member expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare the loan for closing and ensure all closing documents are correct, accurate, and in compliance with government and credit union regulations.
  • Ensure loan approval stipulations are met prior to loan closing, and that third‑party requests are transmitted and received to meet established time standards.
  • Resolve member problems, obtain information, research records, follow up on details, assess member needs in a timely and efficient manner and report results to the inquiring party to develop and sustain profitable member relationships.
  • Prepare and audit closing documents in accordance with loan approval, compliance standards, and investor guidelines.
  • Review asset documentation to ensure the borrower has sufficient funds to close the transaction.
  • Review final Closing Disclosures (CDs) and ensure all fees, terms and data are accurate.
  • Ensure all pre‑closing conditions and documentation requirements are met prior to closing.
  • Coordinate and communicate closing details with title companies, attorneys, loan officers, processors, and applicants.
  • Handle funding tasks, including reviewing signed closing packages, verifying accuracy, and disbursing funds when applicable.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist applicants with questions regarding their Closing Disclosure, loan documents, escrow, etc., or redirect callers to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge and adhere to all regulations, policies, procedures and standards that pertain to this position.
  • Ensure compliance with TRID, RESPA, TILA, and other federal and state regulations.
  • Capable of handling a pipeline of 20–40 loan files while meeting contract closing dates.
  • Adhere to established productivity and loan quality standards to meet quality service standards.
  • Support the sales efforts of all Express Mortgages team members by providing the member with appropriate product and service materials to enhance the SCCU cooperative/member relationship.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.

Qualifications
  • Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of processing, closing or banking experience.
  • Preferred: Mortgage closing or mortgage processing experience; familiarity with TRID and investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA).
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting Compensation: $28.13 – $29.79 per hour.
