The Position

The Contra Costa Department of Agriculture is seeking qualified individuals interested in a career as an Agricultural Biologist. Currently, the department is recruiting to fill one (1) vacancy. However, subsequent vacancies that occur may be filled from the eligible list created by this recruitment. The County's Agricultural Department is headquartered in Concord on Stanwell Circle. The Department consists of twenty-five (25) permanent employees;

fourteen (14) are directly involved in agricultural inspection activities.

Licenses

Required:

1) Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License;
2) possession of all California County Agricultural/Biologist License.

Experience:

Two (2) years of experience with a public jurisdiction performing duties equivalent to those performed by an Agricultural Biologist I in Contra Costa County.

• Oral Interview:
  The examination will consist of an oral interview conducted by a Qualifications Appraisal Board. The Board will evaluate each candidate in job related areas. Candidates must receive a rating of at least 70 from a majority of the Board members to be ranked on the employment list (Weighted 100%).
