Starting Salary: $2,272.45 Bi-Weekly. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

This is a responsible leadership position that ensures the service delivery of probation, day treatment and conditional release services in a Judicial Circuit. The services delivered will be in accordance with federal and state law, Department rules and regulations and all other established by the Secretary of the Department.

Provide supervision of units who deliver probation and intake services. Conducts bi-monthly individual conferences with unit supervisors.

Monitors the performance of probation & parole services to verify their compliance with federal, state & department guidelines.

Establishes consistent procedures of service delivery throughout the circuit.

Maintain liaison with the courts, the state attorney’s office, public defenders and law enforcement agencies within the Judicial Circuit.

Liaisons with contracted programs performing day treatment services, probation and conditional release functions.

Chairs the Circuit Safety Committee.

Supervises program staff responsible for the date integrity system for the department, and programs staff responsible for the oversight of day treatment programs to ensure their compliance with department guidelines. Monitors various JJIS reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

Liaisons with department personnel in specialized areas to resolve problems and effective utilization of the following areas:
Cost of Care Recovery, Inter State Compact, and Medicaid, to resolve problems and ensure that the lines of communication remain open. Chair of weekly detention audit.

Supervises the 5 Juvenile Probation Officer Supervisors to ensure the functions are in compliance with personnel policies, fiscal accountability, and general services.

Coordinates with the Office of System Innovation to interpret, use, and monitor data related to the innovative initiatives. Uses a data-driven problem solving and implementation model to make informed decisions based on analysis and trends. Informs/educates both internal program areas and external system partners on identified patterns. Works collaboratively to implement system improvement initiatives designed to enhance outcomes for youth and families.

Knowledge of Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS).

Knowledge of Agency and State Policies and Procedures.

A valid driver's license is required.

A minimum of Three (3) years of professional experience preferably in youth delinquency.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of experience.

A minimum Three (3) years of DJJ supervisory experience.

This position requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

This position requires traveling.

DJJ participates in E-Verify (Employment Eligibility).

If initially hired with an out-or-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver's license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/Education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
