Environmental Compliance And Occupational Health & Safety Program Manager
Brevard County is an EEO and Veteran's Preference employer. Full Time Open Until Filled. $3,005.92 to $3,306.51 bi-weekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes stand-by and holidays as needed. Performs skilled professional work planning, developing, implementing, and managing the Environmental Compliance Program and the Occupational Health & Safety Program for the Utility Services Department.
Work involves providing technical assistance and oversight to all Utility Services staff relating to environmental compliance and reporting with state and federal agencies and health and safety practices and procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with the most current local, state, and federal environmental and safety and health regulations, standards, codes, and policies. Supervision is given to assigned supervisory, technical, and clerical staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Science, a Physical Science, a Natural Science, Safety Engineering, Safety Management, or a closely related field PLUS five (5) years of progressively responsible technical and/or professional experience in an environmental field, occupational safety, industrial safety, or a closely related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
