The Medical Staff Affairs Coordinator provides oversight and review processes for Medical Staff By-Laws in accordance with VA and accreditation standards. Additionally, he/she will provide oversight and coordination with Credentialing & Privileging for FPPE, FPPE For Cause, and OPPE

processes and tracking. The Medical Staff Affairs Coordinator collaborates with Credentialing & Privileging on privileges standardization processes and monitoring compliance with Service Chiefs.

This announcement is to fill one position with a negotiable location. Available locations are Orlando, FL (Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona), Winter Park, FL (Lake Baldwin Outpatient Clinic), Daytona Beach, FL (Daytona Beach Outpatient Clinic), or Viera, FL (Viera Outpatient Clinic).

Duties include but are not limited to:

* In collaboration with the Chief of Staff and Service Chiefs, coordinates By-Laws processes such as summary suspension, revocation and reduction of privileges.

* Collaborates with HR to ensure reporting to state licensing boards and the National Practitioner Data Bank is completed as required.

* Responsible for reporting required activities to the PSB and MEC.

* Participates in surveys, administrative rounds, and other local activities as required.

* Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience and creative approaches to management of complex clinical and administrative health care issues.

* Maintains oversight of review and adherence of Medical Staff By-Laws to standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for Medical Staff Affairs, medical staff support, performance measures and other process management for the Chief of Staff.

* Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care.

* Functions as an expert nurse, with a vast background of experience, who has an intuitive grasp of each situation and focuses accurately on the problem without wasteful consideration of a large range of unfruitful, alternative diagnoses and solutions.

* Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients and they are responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level. Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility, VISN, or VACO. Program is identified as a substantial coordinated group of activities impacting patients and/or employees.

* Maintains a global understanding of how their area(s) of responsibility supports the system's mission and vision.

* Responsible and accountable for the planning, organization, and evaluation of effectiveness related to clinical, informatics, and/or administrative process changes, analyzing issues impeding change, developing corrective actions to expedite change, and assuring optimum utilization of available resources to maintain a climate conducive to quality patient care and employee satisfaction.

* Functions as a formal and informal educator; serving as a liaison between internal and external customers, supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction.

* Collaborates with medical center leadership including Service Chiefs and Supervisors, licensing and professional standards board personnel, Medical Executive Committee members, Professional Standards Board members, middle managers and employees in staff positions.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards

Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)

Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday; 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
